What is it?

The Smart City Business Academy (SCB-AcaD) is the SCBA area responsible for training and certifying professionals and public managers in Smart Cities.

The common vision of the smart city concept is mistaken and this creates great barriers for the Smart City market to advance. SCB-AcaD courses train professionals with a holistic, integrated and strategic view of the problems experienced daily in cities, capable of promoting the necessary transformation in companies and cities, so that projects prosper, generating business and, consequently, a thriving market and creative, solving most of the problems of cities.

The courses are taught by experts in each area, with the occasional participation of guests and representatives of public and private organizations, anchored on a solid academic foundation, with high-level content, stimulating discussions and rigorous evaluations, including the granting of the "Professional" SEAL of Smart City", which will give its wearer a differentiated professional level.

Methodology and target audience

The courses are intended for those who work or want to work in government agencies, public and private companies, non-governmental organizations, educational institutions, urban planning, sustainable mobility, transport, security, etc., or who are interested in improving their skills to develop or manage smart city projects.

The platform is composed of several thematic courses and each of them will have 40 hours/class in the Distance Learning modality (distance learning), distributed in five modules of eight hours each. To participate in any of the courses, it will be required as a prerequisite to have the base course of Smart City, which lasts 20 hours, also in EaD mode. Thus, each course will have a total of 60 hours/class

"Smart City Manager" Seal Details

The "Smart City Professional" Seal will be awarded to the student who completes the 60 hours in any of the courses offered by the Smart City Business Academy.

The seal will be granted specifically for the chosen subject area and to receive it, the student will have to complete the entire course load, pass a minimum average of 70% in all modules and submit a Course Completion Paper for approval, to be designated by the coordinator of the matter. The TCC will put the student in front of real problems experienced in the day-to-day life of the municipalities, where he will exercise his learning with the creation of a solution proposal.
